Rev. Edwina Landry
Rev. Edwina Landry, is our pastor called to serve First Presbyterian Church here in Rome, NY. A New England native, she grew up in Connecticut and also lived for many years in New Hampshire. She received a bachelor’s degree in Writing and Literature from Granite State College in New Hampshire, and graduated with a master of divinity degree from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, now known as United Lutheran Seminary. She also received a certificate in Ecumenism (Ecumenical Studies) from the Washington Consortium in Washington DC. Prior to seminary she worked in college administration, and also did free-lance writing. Rev. Landry has served congregations in North Dakota, Pennsylvania, and most recently Albany, NY prior to coming to Rome. She has two grown daughters, and lives here in Rome with her cat Boo. In her spare time, Rev. Landry enjoys gardening, reading, writing, cooking, and spending time outdoors and long walks on the beach when she can get there. (She really does love the beach!)
Rev. Landry has a passion for preaching inspiring and relatable sermons. She loves working with children and youth, reaching out in the community, and listening and sharing how God is active in each person’s life. She is also very passionate about environmental stewardship and caring for all God’s creation.
