Pentecost Sunday Worship

This Sunday we celebrate the feast of Pentecost – Fifty days after Easter, when the first apostles
received the gift of the Holy Spirit. It is known as the “birthday of the Church” because the
apostles – filled with a newly infused confidence – went out and spread the gospel of Jesus
worldwide. That same Spirit that infused the early apostles is with us today – filling us with
confidence, hope, and a passion to carry out God’s mission of love and justice.
Join us for worship this Sunday as we experience the power and movement of the Holy Spirit. Be
energized by the Word of God, lively music, and other artistic expressions. Our great choir will
sing “Spirit, Come Down.” Wear some red – the color of the flames of holy fire – and be prepared to “Feel the Spirit!”
