TWENTY FOURTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST WORSHIP SERVICE

Our scripture readings today focus on waiting and watching. Jesus tells us we are to keep alert for His coming, yet that not always easy to do. Where do we look? What do we do while we are waiting? Jesus’ parable of the bridesmaids – some whom are wise and some foolish – stresses the urgency of being wise and keeping alert in the present moment. We are to be open to Jesus’ presence now not just at some time in the future. Let us reflect on this as we listen to our prelude this morning.
