DESCRIPTION:Relay for Life Fundraisers -Upcoming events \nPastor Edwina is hosting a bake sale on Pentecost Sunday – June 8th – to benefit Relay for Life.  Come and enjoy some delicious treats and support a great cause! \nDuring the rest of June\, there will be luminaries for sale to honor or in memory of those who are fighting cancer\, survived cancer\, or were lost to cancer. Each luminary is $5.00. Last year\, there were 370 luminaries representing our church. There will also be “purple Luminaries” for $25.00 to remember or celebrate a special individual. The names are placed on a banner and read during the luminary ceremony at the Relay Event at Delta Lake State Park on Saturday\, June 14th\, from noon to 10 PM. \n  \n             \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The Nursery School of the First Presbyterian Church is proud to offer scholarships\, through the Mary Mowry Fund\, to families in need in our community. It is hard to choose between groceries\, rent\, or education for a child. Young families and one-income households are still struggling with the aftereffects of Covid. PLEASE consider donating to the Mary Mowry Scholarship Fund throughout the year. We currently have no money available in this scholarship fund and wait to continue offering these much-needed scholarships. We look toward the coming semesters\, now is the time! SUMMARY:The First Presbyterian Church Education Scholarship
DESCRIPTION:The First Presbyterian Church Education Scholarship (formerly the Student Loan Program) is intended to serve the First Presbyterian Church Community (teen\, young adult and adult) in their desire to further formal educational opportunities to help offset the rising costs of continued education. \nAward – Award(s) shall be given to students/prospective students who are members of the First Presbyterian Church and are accepted into a formal educational setting (technical and trade schools\, junior college\, undergraduate and graduate colleges and universities and technical training program.) \nScholarship amounts will be determined by the Church Scholarship Committee. \nAward Requirements – All applicants must be active members of the First Presbyterian Church of Rome\, NY. \nThe Scholarship shall be used for any accredited training or education program within one calendar year of receipt of the award or it shall be returned. Applicants may receive the award more than once\, but the application form must be submitted each year. For awards beyond the initial award\, documentation must be provided that the applicant is in good standing with the educational institution and/or program\, along with a course grade transcript for the previous academic year. \nAward Information – Application deadline:  June 1st.
